Newfoundland

The Newfoundland is a large breed weighing between 100 to 150 pounds. This breed is known to be a very sweet breed with a large heart and an eagerness to please. These dogs are sometimes known as the "nanny dog" since they are so good with children. The Newfoundland is a member of the working group known for their swimming and rescuing abilities. 

The Newfoundland has a flat water-resistant coat, their coat is usually: black, brown, gray and sometimes a combination of black and white. They can sometimes have white markings within their coat. This breed sheds seasonally and due to their medium length coat they need groomed occasionally to keep their coats shinny.
